1 hard-boiled egg yolks , pushed through a sieve
1 raw egg yolk
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 1/4 cups flour
1 egg white , beaten
14 sugar cubes , crushed or 14 sugar

Instructions

1.Preheat oven to 375F.

5.Cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
6.Roll the dough into ropes about 1/4 inch in diameter.
7.Shape the ropes into knots, brushing each one with beaten egg white as you go.
8.Dip the dough knots in crushed sugar cubes.
9.Place the cookies on ungreased baking sheets and bake for 12 to 15 minutes or just until the edges begin to brown.
10.Remove from the oven and cool the cookies on wire racks.
