Ingredients

3 1/2 cups flour
8 ounces unsalted butter
1 tablespoon milk
6 -7 tablespoons sugar
3 tablespoons rose water
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 1/2 cups walnuts or 1 1/2 cups pistachios , chopped fine
powdered sugar

Instructions

1.In a large mixing bowl, mix flour with cinnamon powder.
2.Put sugar and rose water in a saucepan, bring to a boil & let simmer till sugar dissolves.
3.In a separate bowl, melt the butter and add it to flour mixture.
4.Pour the cooled sugar syrup into the bowl and work into a dough.
5.Add the chopped nuts and knead again.
6.Preheat the oven to 180°C.
7.Press dough into cookie mold or shape into balls and then flatten it with the help of a fork.
8.Place the cookies onto a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
9.Bake for 15-20 minutes or until the cookies are lightly golden.
10.Remove them from the oven and allow to cool down for about 5 minutes. Once the cookies are cool enough to handle, roll them in powdered sugar to coat.
11.Serve immediately or store in an airtight container.
