Ingredients

1/2 cup honey
1/2 cup molasses

2 3/4 cups flour , sifted
1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1 teaspoon clove
1 teaspoon allspice
1 teaspoon nutmeg
1/3 cup citron , chopped
1/3 cup nuts , chopped
whole blanched almond
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup water
1/4 cup confectioners ' sugar

Instructions

1.Preheat oven to 375°F
2.In a saucepan, combine the honey, molasses and brown sugar over low heat.
3.Remove from heat and stir in egg, lemon juice, and lemon rind.
4.In a separate bowl mix together, flour, baking soda, cinnamon, clove, allspice, and nutmeg.
5.Slowly fold flour mixture into the honey mixture.
6.Add citron and nuts and stir once more.
7.Form 1 inch balls and place on a greased baking sheet
8.Press an almond into the center of each ball.
9.Bake for 12-15 minutes or until just browned.
10.In a saucepan, combine sugar and water and bring to a boil to make glaze.
11.Remove from heat and stir in confectioners' sugar.
12.Brush warm cookies with sugar glaze.
