2 cups walnuts , ground

orange , juice and rind of
2 tablespoons rum
1/2 cup raisins
4 figs , chopped
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 cup orange marmalade or 1 cup apricot jam

Instructions

1.In a small bowl, mix the yeast and water together and let it sit for 5 minutes.

4.Add the yeast mixture and warm potatoes to the bowl, and mix well.
5.Add vanilla, lemon rind, white wine, and ground walnuts to the dough.

7.Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
8.Mix sugar, vanilla, lemon juice and rind, orange juice and rind, and rum in a bowl
9.Roll out the dough onto a floured surface, and spread the sugar mixture, raisins, chopped figs, cinnamon, and orange marmalade or apricot jam on top of it.
10.Roll the dough and slice it into cookies.
11.Beat the egg whites and brush them onto the cookies.
12.Bake cookies for about 20 minutes or until golden brown.
