2 2/3 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup unsalted butter , room temperature
3/4 cup granulated sugar
3/4 cup light brown sugar , packed
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon almond extract
2 large eggs
3 cups bittersweet chocolate chips

Instructions

1.Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C).
2.In a small saucepan, heat cherries and kirsch over low heat, stirring occasionally, until cherries have absorbed most of the liquid. Set aside to cool.
3.In a medium-sized bowl, whisk flour, baking soda, and salt together.
4.In another bowl, beat butter until creamy then add granulated sugar, brown sugar, vanilla, and almond extract until it's light and fluffy.
5.Add eggs, one at a time, until just combined.
6.Slowly mix in flour mixture until just combined, then fold in chopped cherries and chocolate chips.
7.Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and scoop cookies onto the sheet with a spoon, leaving about 2 inches between each cookie.
8.Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the edges are golden-brown. Cool on the sheet for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
