Ingredients

4 cups glutinous rice
10 dried shiitake mushrooms
1/2 tablespoon dried shrimp
1/2 lb ground pork
1 teaspoon vegetable oil
3 tablespoons dark soy sauce
3 shallots , chopped
sweet chili sauce ( garnish )
cilantro leaf , chopped ( garnish )
Zhu Tong Fan is a traditional Taiwanese dish widely enjoyed across the country. Instructions

1.Rinse the rice in a strainer until the water runs clear, then soak for at least an hour.
2.Soak the dried shiitake mushrooms in warm water for 1-2 hours to rehydrate.
3.Rinse the dried shrimp in water and set aside.
4.In a pan, add 1 teaspoon of vegetable oil and sauté the chopped shallots until fragrant.
5.Add the ground pork and dried shrimp and cook until the pork is no longer pink.
6.Add the soaked shiitake mushrooms and continue cooking for 1-2 minutes.
7.Add dark soy sauce and stir until the ingredients are well combined.
8.Pour the mixture into the pot of soaked glutinous rice and mix well.
9.Add enough water to cover the rice about 1/4 inch and stir.
10.Cook the rice in a rice cooker or on the stovetop according to the instructions for glutinous rice.
