Ingredients

500 g plain flour
1 pinch salt
whole milk
50 g yeast
75 g butter
1 egg
250 g brown sugar
2 tablespoons cinnamon
Zeeuwse Bolus, or Dutch Sticky Cinnamon Buns as they are commonly known in English, are a traditional Dutch pastry from the province of Zeeland. These spiral-shaped buns are coated in a mixture of brown sugar and cinnamon, giving them a sweet, spicy flavor. Instructions

1.In a large bowl, mix the flour and salt together.
2.In a separate bowl, add the yeast to a small amount of warm milk and let it activate for a few minutes.
3.Add the activated yeast mixture to the flour mixture.
4.Mix the butter, egg, and remaining milk together and add it to the flour and yeast mixture.
5.Knead the dough for 10 minutes and let it rise for an hour.
6.Preheat the oven to 180°C (356°F).
7.Mix the brown sugar and cinnamon together.
8.Roll out the dough and spread the brown sugar and cinnamon mixture over the surface.
9.Roll the dough into a long log.
10.Cut the log into small pieces.
11.Roll each small piece into a thin long string and then wrap it into a snail shape.
12.Bake the snails for 15-20 minutes. The buns should be soft and golden when finished.
13.Let them cool down before serving.
