Ingredients

1 package Hostess Twinkies , cut into thirds lengthwise ( 10 count )
1/2 cup honey
3/4 cup water
1/2 lemon , juice of
1 teaspoon rose water ( or orange blossom water ) ( optional )
1 1/2 cups walnuts , coarsely chopped
2 tablespoons sugar
1/3 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
1/3 teaspoon ground cardamom

Yaya's Twinkie Baklava is a modern twist on the traditional version. It is made with the Hostess Twinkies, a sweet and creamy cake, which is cut and layered with a mixture of nuts, sugar, and spices. A honey syrup is poured over the top, which adds a lot of flavor to this dish. It's an easy-to-make dessert that is perfect for any occasion, be it a formal dinner party or a casual get-together with friends. Instructions

1.Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
2.In a skillet, add the walnuts, sugar, and spices. Toast them on medium heat until fragrant, about 5-7 minutes. Set aside.
3.Cut the Twinkies lengthwise into thirds. Add 1 tablespoon of butter in the skillet and melt it. Over high heat, add the Twinkies, cut side down, and cook until golden brown.
4.In a saucepan, combine honey, water, lemon juice, and rose/orange blossom water. Heat on low-medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the honey has completely dissolved.
5.In an oven-safe dish, place the toasted walnuts in a layer. Add a layer of cooked Twinkies on top of the walnuts. Drizzle a spoonful of the honey mixture over it, and repeat the process until all the ingredients are used up.
6.Bake the baklava in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
7.Take it out of the oven and let it cool down for a few minutes. Cut the baklava into squares, and pour the remaining honey syrup over the top. Serve and enjoy!
