Ingredients

1 1/4 cups water or 1 1/4 cups broth
1 cup couscous
1 teaspoon butter or 1 teaspoon margarine ( optional )
1/2 teaspoon salt ( optional )
2 tablespoons white wine ( use decent quality ! )
1/2 cup shiitake mushroom
1/2 cup porcini mushroom
1 small onion , finely chopped
1 clove garlic , minced
1 teaspoon basil
Wild Forest Mushroom Couscous is an easy-to-make and delicious vegetarian main course. This dish has a fluffy base of cooked couscous with an added texture of shiitake and porcini mushrooms. The earthy mushroom sauce helps bring the Couscous to life and adds a depth of flavor that you are sure to love. This dish is healthy and satisfying, perfect for lunch or dinner. Instructions

1.Boil water or broth in a medium-sized pot.
2.Once boiling, add 1 teaspoon of butter or margarine(optional) and 1/2 teaspoon salt(optional) to the pot.
3.Then add 1 cup of couscous into the pot, mix ingredients thoroughly.
4.Remove from heat and cover the pot. Let it sit for 5-7 minutes so the couscous soaks up all the water and becomes fluffy.
5.Meanwhile, add 2 tablespoons of white wine to a pan over medium heat.
6.Once heated thoroughly, add shiitake mushrooms and porcini mushrooms into the pan. Cook for 1-2 minutes until the mushrooms become tender.
7.Add finely chopped onions and minced garlic into the pan along with 1 teaspoon of basil.
8.Cook until onions become translucent, and then remove from heat.
9.Mix the mushroom sauce with the couscous in the pot and serve hot.
