1 lime , juice of
1/4 inch ginger , chopped fine
fresh cilantro , chopped fine

Instructions

1.Wash and soak split peas and white lentils for 1 hour.
2.In a pressure cooker, heat vegetable oil on medium flame and add black mustard seeds. Let them crackle and add onions and green chilies. Saute until onions turn translucent.
3.Add ginger, turmeric and fry for a couple of seconds. Then add lentils, split peas, salt and potato cubes. Mix well.
4.Add 2 cups of water to the cooker and pressure cook for 4 whistles.
5.Once the pressure is released, open the lid and mash the mixture.
6.Add lime juice and fresh cilantro and mix well.
7.Serve hot with chapati, bread or rice.
