4 tablespoons vegetable oil , divided
2 onions , chopped
4 cloves garlic , minced
1 pound ground beef
3/4 pound spicy Italian sausage , casing removed
1 can peeled and diced tomatoes with juice

1 cup strong brewed coffee
2 cans tomato paste
1 can beef broth
1/4 cup chili powder
1 tablespoon ground cumin
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 teaspoon ground coriander
1 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon wasabi paste
3 cans kidney beans
2 Anaheim chile peppers , chopped
1 serrano pepper , chopped
1 habanero pepper , sliced

Instructions

1.In a large pot, heat 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil over medium heat.
2.Add chopped onions and minced garlic, and saute until onions are soft and garlic is fragrant.
3.Add ground beef and spicy Italian sausage, and cook until browned, stirring occasionally.
4.Drain the fat from the meat, and return the pot to medium heat.
5.Add peeled and diced tomatoes with juice, dark beer, strong brewed coffee, tomato paste, and beef broth to the pot. Stir well.
6.Add chili powder, ground cumin, brown sugar, dried oregano, cayenne pepper, ground coriander, salt, and wasabi paste. Stir well to combine.
7.Add kidney beans, chopped Anaheim chile peppers, serrano pepper, and habanero pepper to the pot. Stir well.
8.Heat remaining 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil in a separate pan over medium heat.
9.Add sliced habanero pepper and saute for 1-2 minutes until slightly softened.
10.Add sauteed habanero pepper to the chili and stir well to combine.
11.Bring the chili to a simmer and cook, stirring occasionally, for 1 hour.
12.Serve hot with your favorite toppings such as shredded cheese, sour cream, diced onions, and cilantro.
