Ingredients

6 tablespoons cake flour
1 cup superfine sugar
4 eggs , extra-large
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 1/4 ounces butter
1 teaspoon baking powder
2 teaspoons vanilla essence
5 ounces walnuts , broken
1 1/2 ounces butter
3 ounces chocolate , dark , broken up
1/2 cup apricot jam ( smooth jam , not wholefruit jam , softened or warmed slightly )
flaked almonds , for sprinkling ( optional )
This Hungarian style walnut tart is a classic dessert that is enjoyed throughout Hungary and beyond, especially during the holiday season. It's easy to make and requires only a few ingredients that are readily available in most grocery stores. Instructions

1.Preheat oven to 350°F.
2.Mix flour, 1/2 cup sugar, eggs, salt, butter, baking powder and vanilla in a large mixing bowl.
3.Slowly fold in walnuts.
4.Grease a large tart pan and pour mixture into it.
5.Bake for 35-45 minutes or until golden brown.
6.Remove the tart from the oven and let it cool down.
7.Spread a layer of the softened apricot jam over the cooled tart.
8.Melt the chocolate and 1 1/2 ounces of butter together in a double boiler or in the microwave using 50% power. Stir well.
9.Pour the melted chocolate and butter mixture over the jam, spreading it evenly.
10.Sprinkle flaked almonds over the top if desired.
