Ingredients

1 1/4 cups crushed round vanilla wafers or 1 1/4 cups round toddler vanilla wafers
25 whole round vanilla wafers
1 1/4 cups powdered sugar
7 tablespoons soft room temp butter
2 tablespoons rum
2 tablespoons water
2 tablespoons cocoa ( Hershey 's pure baking cocoa )
3/4 cup powdered sugar
5 1/2 tablespoons soft room temp butter
1 egg yolk , from a pasteurized egg ( or immerse an unpasteurized egg in boiling water for 1 minute , cool immediately )
2 tablespoons rum

Instructions

1.Crush 1 1/4 cups of round toddler vanilla wafers or round vanilla wafers and mix with powdered sugar, 7 tablespoons of room temperature butter, 2 tablespoons of rum, and 2 tablespoons of water until well combined.
2.Make little balls out of the mixture and press each ball onto a whole round vanilla wafer to form a nest shape.
3.In a separate bowl, mix cocoa, 3/4 cup powdered sugar, and 5 1/2 tablespoons of soft room temperature butter.
4.Add an egg yolk and 2 tablespoons of rum to the cocoa mixture and mix until well combined.
5.Fill each nest with the cocoa mixture.
6.Let set for at least 4 hours or preferably overnight.
