Ingredients

3 tablespoons vietnamese fish sauce ( nuoc mam )
4 shallots , thinly sliced
2 tablespoons chopped fresh ginger
1/2 teaspoon Chinese five spice powder
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
4 hardboiled egg , peeled and cut into wedges
1/2 lb pork shoulder , with some fat , cut into 1 inch cubes

Instructions

1.In a small bowl, mix sugar and water together until sugar is dissolved and set aside.

4.Add in the pork and stir to coat.
5.Cover and simmer for 1 hour or until pork is tender.
6.Add in the egg wedges and simmer for an additional 10 minutes.
7.Serve hot with steamed rice or noodles.
