Ingredients

2 tablespoons olive oil
3/4 lb ground lamb
1 1/4 lbs ground beef
1 tablespoon butter
1 medium onion , Diced
1 carrot , Diced
1 cup peas
1 tablespoon tomato paste

1 tablespoon fresh parsley , Chopped
1 tablespoon flour
1 bottle British ale ( Preferably Long Trail or an ESB )
1 lb russet potatoes or 3 good sized russet potatoes
1 shallots , Sliced or 1 green onion
1 cup extra-sharp cheddar cheese , Shredded ( Preferably Cabot )
salt and pepper ( to taste )

Instructions

12.In a casserole dish, pour in the meat mixture and smooth it out.
13.Cover the meat mixture with the mashed potatoes.
14.Bake for 35-40 minutes.
15.Let the pie cool for 5-10 minutes before serving.
