9 cups water
4 carrots , peeled and diced
1 large onion , diced
celery , 1/2 cup diced
2 bay leaves
1 teaspoon minced garlic
2 teaspoons dried herbs de provence seasoning
2 teaspoons kosher salt
fresh ground pepper

Instructions

1.Rinse and drain split peas
2.In a large pot, combine split peas and 9 cups water

4.Bring to a boil, reduce heat, and let simmer for 60-70 minutes or until split peas are tender
5.Remove bay leaves and let cool slightly
6.Use an immersion blender or transfer to a blender and puree until smooth
