2 teaspoons salt
2 eggs
5 1/2 - 6 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup milk , warm
1 teaspoon lemon peel , finely shredded
1/4 teaspoon ground mace
1 cup light raisins
1/2 cup nuts , chopped
1 egg yolk , beaten

Instructions

1.Dissolve yeast in warm water.
2.Add sugar, margarine, salt, eggs, and 2 cups of flour. Mix until smooth.
3.Gradually add in the remaining flour, milk, lemon peel, and ground mace, mixing well until the dough forms.
4.Fold in raisins and nuts.
5.Knead dough on a floured surface until smooth and elastic, then place it in a greased bowl, cover and let rise in warm place until doubled.
6.Punch down dough and divide into 4 equal pieces.
7.Roll each piece into a long strand.
8.Braid the strands together, then form into a wreath and place on a greased baking sheet.
9.Brush with beaten egg yolk.
10.Cover and let rise until doubled.
11.Bake at 375°F for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
