Ingredients

1 round loaf pagnotto Italian bread
1/3 cup sun-dried tomato pesto
1/3 cup basil pesto
2 cups mixed baby greens
4 ounces san daniele salami with prosciutto , sliced
8 ounces aged provolone cheese , sliced
1/3 cup black olive tapenade
4 ounces italian mortadella , with pistachios , sliced
8 ounces Fontina cheese , sliced
2 -3 tomatoes , sliced
5 ounces pannonia smoked ham , sliced
1/3 cup green olive tapenade
4 ounces molinari milano salami , sliced
The muffuletta sandwich has its roots in New Orleans, Louisiana, and is a popular dish in Italian-American cuisine. It typically consists of a round loaf of bread filled with layers of meats, cheeses, and olive salad, or tapenade. In this recipe, we take it up a notch by using a variety of Italian cured meats and cheeses, along with two different types of tapenade to add an extra layer of flavor to the sandwich. Instructions

1.Slice the top off of the round loaf of bread, then hollow out the inside of the loaf to make room for the fillings.
2.Spread the sun-dried tomato pesto on the bottom half of the bread, followed by the basil pesto on top.
3.Layer the baby greens, salami with prosciutto, provolone cheese, and black olive tapenade on top of the pestos.
4.Layer the mortadella, Fontina cheese, tomatoes, smoked ham, green olive tapenade, and Milano salami on top of the other fillings.
5.Replace the top of the loaf of bread and press down firmly.
6.Wrap the sandwich tightly in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least one hour before slicing into wedges and serving.
