250 -350 g frozen puff pastry , thawed ( two blocks )
150 ml milk
1/2 tablespoon vanilla
1 tablespoon cornstarch
50 g butter
2 large eggs , lightly beaten
100 g granulated sugar
150 g blanched almonds ( ground )

Instructions

1.Preheat the oven to 200°C.

6.Roll out the second block of puff pastry to the same size as the first and place it on top of the almond filling. Press the edges together to seal.
7.Brush the top with the beaten egg and score the top with a sharp knife in a decorative pattern.
8.Bake for 25-30 minutes until the pastry is golden brown.
9.Serve the cake warm or at room temperature.
