Ingredients

8 -10 lbs turkey , cut into 8 serving pieces
2 cups finely chopped onions
3 tomatoes , skinned , seeded and coarsely chopped
1/2 cup chopped golden seedless raisins
1/2 teaspoon ground coriander
1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
2 cloves garlic , finely chopped
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
3/4 cup finely chopped almonds
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
2 cups boiling chicken broth
4 tablespoons chicken fat ( or margarine )
2 cups cold chicken broth
1 1/2 ounces unsweetened chocolate
sesame seeds , optional

Instructions

1.In a large pot, heat chicken fat (or margarine) over medium heat.
2.Brown turkey pieces on all sides, then remove from pot and set aside.
3.Add onions to the pot and sauté until soft and translucent.
4.Add garlic, tomatoes, ground almonds, golden raisins, and spices and stir well to combine.
5.Pour in the 2 cups of boiling chicken broth and stir well. Add the turkey pieces back to the pot and cover with the cold chicken broth.
6.Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low and let simmer, covered, for 2 to 2 1/2 hours or until the turkey is tender.
7.Remove turkey pieces from the pot and set aside. Puree the mole sauce with an immersion blender until smooth, then return turkey pieces to the pot and simmer for another 10 minutes or until heated through.
8.Serve hot with sesame seeds on top (if desired).
