1 tablespoon crumbled seaweed
1 tablespoon tamari , or more to taste
1 tablespoon cooking sake , or more to taste
1 teaspoon soy sauce
1 teaspoon white sugar , or more to taste
1 teaspoon ground paprika , or more to taste

Instructions

1.Combine all the teriyaki sauce ingredients in a small saucepan over medium heat. Stir occasionally until the sugar is completely dissolved.
2.In a large mixing bowl, combine ground chicken, egg, chopped green onions, grated carrot, panko bread crumbs, red miso paste, grated ginger, potato starch, crumbled seaweed, tamari, cooking sake, soy sauce, white sugar, and ground paprika. Mix until all ingredients are fully incorporated.
3.Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Roll the chicken mixture into small balls, about 1 to 1 1/2 inches in diameter. Once the skillet is hot, add the meatballs to the pan and cook, turning occasionally, until they are browned on all sides.
4.Once the meatballs are fully cooked, remove them from the skillet and pour in the teriyaki sauce. Reduce the heat to medium-low and let the sauce simmer until it thickens, about 5 minutes.
5.Add the meatballs back to the skillet and toss to coat in the sauce. Serve hot and garnish with sesame seeds and green onions as desired.
