125 g mixed dried fruit , such as currants , sultanas , raisins and peel
75 g ready-made pastry dough
30 ml milk
25 g caster sugar

Instructions

1.Warm the milk and beat in the egg.
2.In a separate bowl, mix together the flour, mixed spice, cinnamon, salt and brown sugar.
3.Pour the milk-egg mixture into the bread maker, then add the melted butter and dried yeast.
4.Sprinkle the flour mixture over the top.
5.Set the bread maker to the dough setting and press start.
6.Once the dough is ready, add the mixed dried fruit and knead it in.
7.Take the dough out, knead it by hand and shape it into buns.
8.Place the ready-made pastry dough into thin strips and use them to create a cross on top of each bun.
9.Brush the buns with milk and sprinkle caster sugar over the top.
10.Place them onto a baking tray and bake for 20–25 minutes at 200°C. Enjoy warm!
