Instructions

1.In a large bowl, combine the flour, water, melted ghee mixed with sunflower or vegetable oil, and salt.
2.Mix until a dough forms and knead for 10-15 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
3.Cut into 12 equal pieces and roll each piece out until it becomes very thin (should be able to see through the dough).
4.Grease a baking dish with melted ghee and layer 8 sheets of the rolled out dough, brushing each with melted ghee.
5.Combine the chopped nuts, granulated sugar, ground cinnamon, vanilla sugar, and melted ghee in a bowl.
6.Sprinkle 1/3 of the nut mixture evenly over the pastry and layer with another 4 sheets of the rolled out dough, brushing each layer with melted ghee.
7.Repeat the layers until all the nuts mixture and pastry sheets have been used.
8.Brush the top layer with melted ghee and cut diagonally into diamond shapes.
9.Bake in the oven at 375°F (190°C) for 30-40 minutes until golden brown.
10.While it is still hot, pour the orange flower water and enough honey to cover each piece of baklawa and allow to cool completely.
11.When cool, decorate each piece of baklawa with a whole nut and serve.
