Ingredients

1/2 lb butter
1 cup water
3/4 cup sugar
1 teaspoon allspice
1 tablespoon cinnamon
1/2 cup sultana raisin
1/2 cup golden raisin
1/2 cup currants
1 1/2 teaspoons molasses
1 cup flour
2 eggs , beaten
1 teaspoon baking soda

It’s a sweet and hearty dumpling made with butter, raisins, currants and warm spices, often baked in a pot on the stove for several hours. Instructions

1.Melt the butter, sugar and water in a large bowl in the microwave.
2.Add the allspice, cinnamon, raisins, currants and molasses to the butter mixture and mix well.
3.Sift in the flour and baking soda and mix again.
4.Add in the beaten eggs and stir until the batter is smooth.
5.Pour the batter into a deep, microwave-safe dish, cover with a lid or clingfilm and microwave on high for 10-12 minutes, until the dumpling is cooked through.
6.Once removed from the microwave, let the dumpling rest for a few minutes before serving warm.
