Ingredients

8 ounces margarine
2 ounces caster sugar
8 ounces plain flour
2 tablespoons golden syrup
1 can condensed milk
4 ounces baking chocolate

Instructions

1.Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C).
2.Cream together the margarine and sugar until light and fluffy.
3.Add the flour and mix to combine.
4.Press the mixture into a greased 9x13 inch (23x33cm) baking dish.
5.Bake for 20-25 minutes until lightly golden.
6.In a large saucepan, melt the golden syrup, condensed milk and baking chocolate over low heat until smooth.
7.Pour the mixture over the shortbread base.
8.Pop into the fridge or freezer until set.
9.Once the caramel is set, melt the remaining chocolate over low heat and pour over the top of the caramel.
10.Pop back into the fridge or freezer to set completely.
11.Cut into squares and serve!
