Ingredients

50 g black gram
50 g channa dal
50 g mung dal , with the husk ( green gram )
1 medium onion
3 green chilies
1 teaspoon turmeric powder
1 pinch asafoetida powder
1 teaspoon cumin seed
2 tablespoons oil
salt
cilantro , for garnishing
Mixed pulsed curry, popularly known as Tidali dal, is a delicious Indian recipe. The dish is traditionally from the Gujarati cuisine and is a staple in many households during festive occasions like weddings and festivals. The recipe is easy to make, and the use of different lentils enhances the taste and makes it filling. Instructions

1.Clean the three types of lentils in separate water
2.In a pan, roast the cleaned lentils for a few minutes till lightly brown
3.In a pressure cooker, add roasted lentils, water, turmeric powder, and salt. Cook for 4 to 5 whistles
4.Heat oil in a pan, add cumin seeds, hing and green chilies and sauté for a minute
5.Add chopped onions and saute till it turns brown
6.Add boiled lentils, mix thoroughly and cook for a few minutes
7.Add water according to the desired consistency and let it boil
8.Garnish with cilantro and serve hot with rice, roti or naan.
