1 teaspoon sugar

Instructions

1.Combine ground pork, boiled and chopped cabbage, chopped leeks, chopped garlic, grated ginger root, soy sauce, sake, sesame oil, sugar, salt and pepper in a bowl.
2.Mix everything together well.
3.Take a Gyoza skin and scoop a spoonful of the pork mixture on top of it.
4.Spread the mixture and press the edges together to seal the dumpling.
5.In a non-stick pan, heat some oil over medium heat. Place the dumplings, flat side down in the pan.
6.Cook for 2-3 minutes, or until the bottoms of the gyozas turn deep brown.
7.Pour 1/4 cup of water into the pan and put the lid on quickly.
8.Lower the heat and steam it for roughly four minutes.
9.Turn off the heat when there is no water left in the pan and the gyoza is golden brown.
