2 tablespoons sausage drippings
2 tablespoons margarine
2 apples , cored and sliced
1 large onion , sliced
salt and ground black pepper to taste
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
1 cup water
3 cups prepared mashed potatoes
1 tablespoon melted margarine

Instructions

1.Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

4.Sprinkle flour over the apples and onions and stir well. Gradually pour in the water and stir until the mixture thickens, about 5 minutes.
5.Spread the mashed potatoes into the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish. Top with the sausage mixture, then the apple and onion mixture. Brush the top with melted margarine.
6.Bake the pie for 25 to 30 minutes, or until golden brown on top.
