Ingredients

1 1/2 lbs bluefin tuna steaks ( cut into 20 cubes )
20 frozen pearl onions , defrosted
1/2 cup coconut milk , lite unsweetened
1 -2 Thai peppers , crushed
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 lime , juice and zest of
1 teaspoon minced fresh ginger

2 teaspoons fish sauce or 2 teaspoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon minced basil or 1 tablespoon minced cilantro
1/8 cup olive oil
Take a taste of the Orient with these Thai-inspired Tuna and Pearl Onion Shish Kebabs. The coconut milk and lemongrass marinade gives this dish a unique flavor that can't be found anywhere else. With the sweet pearl onions in between each succulent bite of tuna, you're in for a real treat. Perfect for a barbecue or dinner on the patio, this dish is sure to impress.

Instructions

1.Preheat grill to high heat.
2.Thread a cube of tuna and a pearl onion onto each skewer, alternating until all ingredients are used up.
3.In a small bowl, whisk together coconut milk, Thai peppers, brown sugar, lime zest and juice, ginger, lemongrass, fish sauce (or soy sauce), and minced basil or cilantro.
4.Brush the kebabs with olive oil on both sides and season with salt.
5.Grill for 3-4 minutes per side, or until tuna is cooked through and onions are tender.
6.Brush the coconut milk mixture over the kebabs during the last 2 minutes of grilling, flipping to coat both sides.

PROS

The combination of juicy tuna and sweet pearl onions creates a delicious flavor experience.
This dish is also keto and paleo-friendly.

CONS

Tuna can be an expensive ingredient, and bluefin tuna is also an unsustainable choice due to overfishing.
These kebabs may also be too spicy for some palates.
