Ingredients

1/2 cup sugar
1 cup ground almonds
8 tablespoons unsalted butter , softened
1 egg
3/4 cup flour
1 tablespoon rum or 1 tablespoon kirsch
7 ounces puff pastry
18 ounces fresh strawberries
powdered sugar ( for dusting )

Instructions

1.In a large mixing bowl, combine the sugar, ground almonds, and softened butter. Mix together.
2.Add the egg and mix well.

4.Wrap in cling film and chill for an hour.
5.Preheat the oven to 190°C/375°F.
6.Roll out the puff pastry, cut into circles, and place into prepared tart moulds. Prick the bases with a fork and chill for a few minutes.
7.Line the cases with baking paper and fill with baking beans.
8.Bake for 10 minutes, remove the paper and baking beans, and bake for a further 5-10 minutes.
9.Allow to cool.
10.Fill the tart cases with sliced fresh strawberries and dust with powdered sugar.
