Ingredients

8 tamarillos
1/2 cup brown sugar , firmly packed
1/4 cup water
3/4 cup beef stock
1/2 teaspoon five-spice powder
1/3 cup water ( extra )
1 tablespoon brown sugar ( extra )
Tamarillo sauce is a sweet and tangy sauce made from tamarillos, sugar, and spices. Instructions

1.Boil a pot of water and drop the tamarillos in for 30 seconds to 1 minute. Remove tamarillos from boiling water and dip in cold water for a few seconds.
2.Remove skins of tamarillos and blend the flesh until smooth in a blender.
3.In a saucepan, add brown sugar, water, beef stock, and five-spice powder. Bring to a boil and stir frequently, until sugar is dissolved.
4.Add blended tamarillos and 1/3 cup of water. Mix well and then simmer for about 20-25 minutes until it thickens.
5.Add extra brown sugar and stir well. Turn off heat and let the sauce cool down before serving.
