Ingredients

24 tamarillos
4 apples , cored and chopped
4 large onions , chopped
400 g pitted dates , chopped
500 ml malt vinegar
1 kg brown sugar
2 teaspoons mixed spice

Instructions

3.In a large pan, put the diced tamarillos, apples, onions, dates, malt vinegar, and brown sugar. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat.
4.Add the mixed spice and let it simmer for 1-2 hours or until the mixture thickens to a chutney consistency.
5.Remove the pan from heat and let it cool for a few minutes.
6.Pour the chutney into sterilized jars and store in a cool, dry place. The chutney can be kept for several months.
