Ingredients

3 boneless New York strip steaks , partially frozen
1 lb sliced mushrooms
2 yellow onions , cut into slivers
2 tablespoons wok oil
steamed jasmine rice ( optional ) or brown rice ( optional )
2 tablespoons soy sauce
2 tablespoons wine
2 tablespoons oil
1 tablespoon honey
1 tablespoon rice vinegar
1 1/2 teaspoons cornstarch
3 garlic cloves , minced
1 tablespoon grated ginger
2 tablespoons soy sauce
2 tablespoons oyster sauce
1 tablespoon chili paste
1 tablespoon hot sesame oil
1 tablespoon honey
1 tablespoon cornstarch
Originating from Sichuan province of China, Szechuan seasoning is known for its unique aroma and tongue-numbing sensation. This steak and mushroom stir-fry is given this seasoning to intensify the flavors. The dish has delicious aromas of mushroom and steak, enhanced with a dash of sesame oil and the distinct heat of chili paste. The crunchy onions and hearty beef provide a great balance in the dish. Instructions

1.Cut the partially frozen steaks into thin, bite-sized pieces and set aside.
2.In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, wine, oil, honey, rice vinegar, and cornstarch until well combined.
3.Heat the wok oil in a large skillet or wok over high heat. Add in the sliced onions, mushrooms, garlic and grated ginger, stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until they are soft and fragrant.
4.Add in the steak and cook until browned on all sides, about 5-7 minutes.
5.Reduce the heat to low and add in the soy sauce, oyster sauce, chili paste, hot sesame oil, honey, and cornstarch mixture. Stir-fry until the sauce has thickened to a desired consistency.
6.Serve over steamed jasmine or brown rice.
