Ingredients

2 1/2 cups sifted cake flour
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons canola oil
2 tablespoons softened unsalted butter
2 large lightly beaten eggs
1 tablespoon finely grated lemon zest
4 ounces dried figs
1/2 ounce grated unsweetened chocolate
1 teaspoon brandy
1/2 teaspoon anise extract
Sweet ravioli, also known as a cookie in Italy, is a traditional treat served during the holidays or celebrations. Instructions

1.In a large bowl, mix together the sifted cake flour, sugar, and salt.
2.Add canola oil and softened unsalted butter, and combine until crumbly.
3.Add lightly beaten eggs and finely grated lemon zest, and knead by hand until a smooth dough forms.
4.Cover the dough with a plastic wrap and let it rest for 30 minutes.
5.Meanwhile, finely chop dried figs and grated unsweetened chocolate in a food processor.
6.Add the mixture to a bowl and stir in brandy and anise extract.
7.After 30 minutes, take dough and roll out into thin sheets.
8.Place small dollops of filling onto the sheets, carefully press in enough to cover, then cut out using a ravioli cutter.
9.In a pot, bring water to boil and drop one by one the raviolis.
10.Cook the ravioli for around 4-5 minutes.
11.Remove the ravioli from pot, let them cool down and sprinkle some powdered sugar on top before serving.
