Ingredients

2 packages dry yeast
1 cup light cream
1 cup margarine ( or butter )
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup ground almonds
1 teaspoon ground cardamom
3 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
2 large eggs

Instructions

1.In a small bowl, dissolve the yeast in 1/4 cup lukewarm water with 1/4 tsp sugar.
2.Melt the margarine in a sauce pan, add the light cream.
3.Combine 3 cups of flour, ground almonds, cardamom and sugar in a large bowl. Make a well in center.
4.Beat the eggs and pour in the margarine-cream mixture.
5.Add the yeast mixture and whisk well to combine.
6.Stir in enough of the remaining flour to form a smooth dough.
7.Turn out the dough onto a floured surface and knead until smooth, about 10 minutes.
8.Grease a large bowl, transfer the dough to the bowl and turn to coat.
9.Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
10.Punch the dough down and form into 12 equal buns.
11.Place the buns on a greased baking sheet and let rise for another 30 minutes.
12.Preheat the oven to 425 F, brush the buns with beaten egg and bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown.
