1 piece dried lutefisk , sawed into 6 inch lengths
2 tablespoons lye

Instructions

1.Soak the lutefisk for 3 to 4 days, changing the water at least twice a day.
2.Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
3.Rinse the lutefisk in cold water and place it in a baking dish.
4.Mix the lye and water, and pour over the lutefisk.
5.Cover the dish with aluminium foil and bake for 1 hour.
6.Remove the foil and bake for another 30 minutes or until the lutefisk is golden brown.
