Instructions

1.Preheat the oven to 350°F.
2.In a large bowl, mix together the sugar, flour (white and wheat), baking soda, baking powder, dried apricots, dried prunes, salt, beaten egg, sour cream, melted butter, chopped almonds, grated lemon rind and vanilla.
3.Grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan and pour the mixture into it.
4.Bake for 60-70 minutes until you can insert a toothpick in the center and it comes out clean.
5.Let the bread cool for 10 minutes before removing it from the pan.
6.Top with powdered sugar and candied fruit, if desired.
