3/4 cup dried apricot ( chopped )
1/2 cup dried prune ( chopped )
1 teaspoon salt
1 egg ( beaten )
2 cups sour cream
2 tablespoons melted butter
1 cup almonds ( chopped )
2 tablespoons lemon rind ( grated )
1 teaspoon vanilla
powdered sugar ( optional )
candied fruit ( optional )

Instructions

1.Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a 9 X 5-inch loaf pan.
2.In a large bowl, combine sugar, white flour, wheat flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, chopped apricot, chopped prune, and chopped almonds.
3.In a medium bowl, beat egg, sour cream, melted butter, grated lemon rind, and vanilla until blended.
4.Add wet ingredients to flour mixture. Stir just until moistened. Do not over mix.
5.Pour into prepared pan.
6.Bake approximately 1 hour, or until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
7.Cool in pan for 10 minutes before removing to a wire rack to cool completely.
