1 cup sugar
2 cups white flour
2 cups whole wheat flour
2 teaspoons baking soda

3/4 cup dried apricot ( chopped )
1/2 cup dried prune ( chopped )
1 teaspoon salt
1 egg ( beaten )
2 cups sour cream
2 tablespoons melted butter
1 cup almonds ( chopped )
2 tablespoons lemon rind ( grated )
1 teaspoon vanilla
powdered sugar ( optional )
candied fruit ( optional )
Surmælksfrugtbrød, also known as Danish sour-cream fruit bread, is a popular bread recipe in Denmark. It is packed with dried fruits and nuts, making it a delicious and healthy option. Instructions

1.Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
2.Grease a loaf pan.
3.In a mixing bowl, combine the white flour, wheat flour, sugar, baking soda, baking powder, salt, chopped apricots, chopped prunes, and chopped almonds.
4.In another mixing bowl, mix the sour cream, beaten egg, melted butter, grated lemon rind, and vanilla.
5.Pour the sour cream mixture into the flour mixture. Stir until it is just blended.
6.Pour into the prepared loaf pan.
7.Bake for around 1 hour, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean from the center of the loaf.
8.After removing from the oven, let the bread cool for 10 minutes.
9.Once cooled, you can sprinkle powdered sugar and candied fruit on top if desired.
