Instructions

1.Preheat oven to 350°F.
2.In a large bowl, combine sugar, white flour, whole wheat flour, baking soda, baking powder, chopped apricots, chopped prunes and salt.
3.In another bowl, beat egg, and add sour cream, melted butter, grated lemon rind and vanilla. Mix well.
4.Pour the wet ingredients into the bowl of dry ingredients and stir until fully combined.
5.Fold in chopped almonds.
6.Pour the batter into a greased 9x5 inch loaf pan.
7.Bake for 1 hour or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
8.Cool before slicing. Optional: sprinkle with powdered sugar and candied fruit on top before serving.
