Ingredients

1 head cabbage
1 medium onion , chopped
1/4 cup butter
4 cloves garlic , minced
1 lb ground beef ( whatever your prefer )
salt and pepper
1 tablespoon minced parsley
2/3 cup cream of tomato soup
1 egg , beaten
1 1/2 cups chicken broth
Stuffed Cabbage Head or Zelna Hlava Plnena in the Czech Republic is a traditional dish that is usually eaten on special occasions. It is made of a whole cabbage head, stuffed with ground beef, onion, garlic, and tomato soup. The dish is rich in flavors and nutrition and can be served with mashed potatoes, rice or salad. Stuffed cabbage rolls are healthy and hearty, making them a popular, timeless, and family-friendly recipe.

Instructions

1.Start by removing the core of the cabbage and blanching the entire head in boiling water for approximately 3 minutes. Remove from the pot and let it cool.
2.In a pan, melt the butter and add the chopped onion and minced garlic. Cook until the onion is translucent.
3.Add the ground beef, salt, and pepper. Cook until the meat is no longer pink.
4.In another bowl, mix the beaten egg, parsley, and cream of tomato soup.
5.When the meat is done cooking, add the egg mixture and cook for 1-2 more minutes. Remove from heat.
6.Preheat your oven to 350°F. Coat a large Dutch oven with vegetable oil or cooking spray.
7.Carefully separate the cabbage leaves and stuff them with the beef mixture. Roll the leaves into small bundles and arrange them in the Dutch oven.
8.Add the chicken broth to cover the cabbage rolls and any leftover meat mixture.
9.Cover the pot with a lid and bake in the oven for approximately 2 hours.
