This Strawberry Granita Dessert With Rose Water features the fresh and fruity flavor of strawberries combined with the delicate floral note of rose water, creating a perfect summer treat. Granita is an Italian ice dessert, made by freezing a flavored liquid and scraping it with a fork to create a delicate, granular texture. With only six ingredients, this recipe is easy to make, and the result is a light and refreshing dessert that is perfect for any occasion, from a summer barbecue to a dinner party.

Instructions

1.In a blender, blend the chopped strawberries until smooth.
2.In a large bowl, mix together the blended strawberries, powdered sugar, lemon juice, and rose water until fully combined.
3.Pour the mixture into a shallow dish and place it in the freezer.
4.Every thirty minutes, take the mixture out of the freezer and fluff it with a fork to create the granita texture.
5.After about two hours, the granita should be fully frozen, light and fluffy. Serve with a drizzle of heavy cream and top with a lemon verbena or fresh variegated mint leaf.

PROS

This refreshing dessert is perfect for hot summer days and can be made with only a few ingredients.

It is a lighter alternative to traditional frozen desserts like ice cream or sorbet.

CONS

Because this recipe relies on slightly overripe strawberries, it may not be as sweet if using fresh strawberries.

Also, because of its lighter texture, this dessert does not store well and should be consumed immediately after freezing.

HEALTH & BENEFITS

Strawberries are high in vitamin C and other antioxidants, which have been linked to boosting immunity and reducing inflammation in the body.
Rose water has been found to have anti-inflammatory properties and may even help to relieve stress and anxiety.
