2 apples , peeled cored and diced
100 g self-raising flour
1 teaspoon ground ginger
1 teaspoon nutmeg
1 -2 teaspoon cinnamon
2 teaspoons mixed spice
100 g fresh white breadcrumbs

Instructions

3.Add the flour, ginger, nutmeg, cinnamon, and mixed spice and mix well.

5.Grease a 1.5 liter pudding bowl with butter and spoon in the mixture.
6.Cover the bowl with a double piece of buttered greaseproof paper.
7.Place the bowl in a steamer set over a saucepan of simmering water and steam for 6 hours, ensuring that the pudding does not boil dry.
8.Remove from the steamer and allow to cool before storing in a dark, cool place until Christmas Day.
9.Re-steam on Christmas Day for 3-4 hours and serve with brandy butter, cream, or custard.
