1/2 - 1 teaspoon ground cardamom ( the local ingredient is called cao guo , it 's a dark-brown cardamom pod a bit larger than a nutmeg )

Instructions

1.Grease a 9-inch round cake pan or pie dish.

5.Place a steamer basket into a large pot and add enough water to come up to the bottom of the basket.

8.Once the water is boiling, reduce the heat to low and let the pork steam for about 30-35 minutes or until fully cooked.
9.Remove the pan from the steamer and let rest for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.
