Ingredients

4 medium poblano chiles ( about 12 oz . total )
2 tablespoons fresh lime juice , divided
1 teaspoon kosher salt
1/4 teaspoon honey
1/8 teaspoon cayenne
3 tablespoons avocados , safflower or 3 tablespoons canola oil
2 firm-ripe large avocados
8 ounces jicama , peeled and sliced in thin half-moons
1/4 cup crumbled Cotija cheese
1/4 cup toasted pumpkin seeds
4 radishes , cut into matchsticks

Instructions

1.Put the poblano peppers directly over the flame of a gas burner set on high heat or under the broiler and cook, turning occasionally with tongs, until charred all over. This should take about 10 minutes.
2.Once the peppers are cool enough to handle, remove and discard the stems, seeds, and charred skin, then cut the flesh into wide strips and place in a large bowl.
3.In a separate small bowl, whisk together 1 tablespoon of lime juice, salt, honey, cayenne, and avocado oil.
4.Cut the avocados in half vertically and remove the pits. Then cut each half lengthwise into thin slices and add to the large bowl with the poblano strips.
5.Pour the dressing over the avocado and pepper mixture and toss gently to coat.
6.Add the jicama, Cotija cheese, toasted pumpkin seeds, and radish matchsticks to the bowl and toss lightly.
7.Drizzle with the remaining lime juice and serve.
