3 1/2 ounces whole blanched almonds

2 large oranges , strips of zest
3 1/2 ounces golden superfine sugar

Instructions

1.Preheat the oven to 375°F. Spread the almonds out on a baking sheet and roast them in the oven for 10-15 minutes, or until golden brown.
2.In a large pot combine the red wine, ruby port, and vodka. Add in the cardamom pods, cinnamon sticks, cloves, and orange zest.
3.Heat the mixture over low heat, stirring occasionally until steaming.
4.Add in the sugar and stir until dissolved.
5.Garnish the mulled wine with the toasted almonds and serve.
