Ingredients

1 cinnamon stick ( approximately 1-inch long )
1 whole clove
1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg

Instructions

1.In a heavy-bottomed pot, melt the butter over medium heat.
2.Add the onion, garlic, ginger, turmeric, cardamom, cinnamon stick, whole clove, and nutmeg.
3.Reduce heat to low and simmer, stirring occasionally for 45-60 minutes or until the milk solids have sunk to the bottom of the pot and the liquid is clear.
4.Remove the pot from the heat and let it cool for 10 minutes.
5.Line a fine mesh strainer with cheesecloth and place it over a clean container.
6.Pour the spiced butter over the strainer, discarding the milk solids and spices.
7.Store the spiced butter in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 months.
