2 garlic cloves , crushed

2 teaspoons salt

1 teaspoon cumin , ground
1/2 teaspoon dried greek oregano
1 egg , slightly beaten
1 1/4 lbs ground beef
1/4 cup olive oil ( for frying )
1 medium onion , diced
4 garlic cloves , minced
24 ounces crushed tomatoes
1/4 cup white wine
2 tablespoons butter
1 teaspoon sugar

Instructions

1.Soak the bread slices in the white wine for 5 minutes until they are fully absorbed.

5.Remove the meatballs and add the onion and garlic to the same pan. Cook until softened, then add the white wine and let it simmer until it has reduced by half.
6.Add the crushed tomatoes, butter, sugar, and a pinch of salt and bring to a medium heat.
7.Return the meatballs to the tomato sauce and let it simmer for another 20 minutes until the meatballs are fully cooked.
