2 pounds plums , pitted and sliced
2 cups pure rectified alcohol
2 tablespoons pure rectified alcohol
2 cups vodka
2 tablespoons vodka
1 1/2 cups white sugar

Instructions

1.In a large glass jar, combine the sliced plums, rectified alcohol, and vodka. Stir to combine.
2.Cover the jar with a lid and let it sit in a cool, dark place for at least 2 weeks.
3.After 2 weeks, strain the plum mixture through a fine mesh strainer, pressing to release all the liquid. Discard the solids.
4.In a medium saucepan, combine the strained plum liquid and sugar. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until the sugar is dissolved.
5.Remove from heat and let cool to room temperature.
6.Once cooled, add the additional rectified alcohol and vodka. Stir to combine.
7.Transfer the mixture to a clean glass bottle with a lid. Store in a cool, dark place for at least 2 more weeks before serving.
