1. | Preheat the oven to 325°F (165°C). |
2. | In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. |
3. | Add the flour, a little at a time, and mix well until a dough forms. |
4. | Press the dough into an 8x8-inch (20x20-cm) baking dish. |
5. | Prick the dough all over with a fork. |
6. | Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until lightly golden. |
7. | While the shortbread is still warm, cut it into squares. |
8. | Allow to cool completely before serving. |
